COMMENT
Fleeing an attack by the Seneca,
the Wenrohronon fled north to safety amongst the Tionnontate
in 1639.There they joined with the Deer Tionnonate, the Southern
Bear Huron, and the Chonnonton to become a blended tribe called
the Wyandotte. Then, as a result of an attack by the Iroquois
Confederacy, the Wyandotte fled the Tionnontate's homeland in
1650. Many were also captured and went to live amongst the Seneca. |
